Thirty-three radiation treatments -- over!! That was 26 "full" and seven "boosts" but who's counting.
And here's what I got for graduation: lunch at Crabtree's Kittle House (a surprise orchestrated by Anne), a beautiful card, a guardian angel pin, and lots of hugs.
I earned that warm pecan pie in caramel sauce, which was preceded by potato and leek soup and (from the menu) "Our HV Grass-Fed Angus Cheeseburger aged cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, tom cat pretzel roll, fries" and accompanied by a class of Castle Rock Pinot Noir. That was after a glass of champagne.
As my friend Terri says, it's all about the food.
Is it any wonder I had no room for dinner, plus a bit of indigestion? It was worth every mouthful.
And my sweetie made me a beautiful card (see the picture upper left), my Radiation Oncology Team gave me a guardian angel pin of Austrian crystal and the words on the sheet above.
So now it's on to the next step -- an aromatase inhibitor (probably Arimidex -- note the smiling face on the woman at the web site--gotta love big pharma, getting rich from those of us who are getting sick, but that's another story for another time). We're seeing Dr. Mittleman on Friday morning.
Onward and upward, as Liz Gilbert always says!

Thanks Sarah. So glad to have this behind me.
DeleteCongratulations - finishing radiation sounds like a major milestone! Also, the lunch sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is. Now I'm on to Arimidex, which so far hasn't given me any problems. It's always something!
DeleteI need an afternoon nap, nearly every day, but I can't tell if that's because I'm 70 years old or because I've been sick.
Hope all is well on your end. Hugs to Julia and Steve and of course you!
Hi Connie, sorry I'm months late catching up - but then, you know what I've been up to. Should have read this before I left for CAR, but things got busy. Hope you and Anne are enjoying summer, and not too too hot. Love - Paul
